As I've mentioned in previous posts, I moved from Bethlehem to the Easton area last spring. As I've settled into my adopted home town, I've tried to get involved by attending local events and checking out attractions, shops and restaurants. And as a result, I'm starting to feel like a bit of an expert. So when I found out recently that PBS-39 WLVT was working on a documentary entitled "Communities: Easton," I started thinking about all of the things I'd like to see included in it, primarily in the downtown.
Here are my top five favorites in the city by the two rivers:
Connexions Gallery - (pictured above) Anthony and Alice have some cool artwork hanging on the walls but what I like best is the handmade jewelry in the display cases. I've already scored a pair of earrings and two bracelets from there. State Theatre - I try to get to as many performances there each year as my pocketbook allows. I've seen stand-up comedians, Broadway shows and even a psychic. And it's a really beautiful place to boot! The Events - I love the ones that take place in Centre Square such as Garlic Fest in the fall, Heritage Day in the summer, and the Easton Farmers' Market.
Watch "Communities: Easton" this Sunday night, March 1 at 7 p.m. on WLVT and let me know if your favorite place made the cut.
