I love "buying local"... especially food. I hate when my meal has traveled more than I have! :-) You also have to be careful about the pesticides foreign countries allow. I already miss the Allentown Growers Market on Wednesdays in the PPL Plaza. Couldn't get more convenient that right across the street from our office! I know Emmaus Farmers' Market is very popular too.

Nancy - I agree about buying local and becoming a "locavore" as they call it. I too miss the Allentown Grower's Market. Loved getting those fingerling potatoes each week. And the vendor who sold the homemade soaps was great too. Nice and natural.

I believe Bethlehem did a market too this summer but I am not sure exctly where. Anyone know?

The Easton Farmers' Market has added a special Thanksgiving Market Day on November 26th from Noon-3:00pm. A great time to pick up fresh produce, pies, specialty breads and more!

Thanks for the reminder Megan! I hope Scarecrow Festival is a huge hit this weekend. The weather is supposed to be great, so it was worth the wait!
